business man when are GOOD rts games coming back?

Short answer: Not any time soon.

Long answer: While I cannot comment much on the state of RTS games where you progress a civilization through ages, it seems like the “classic” RTS is dead.

Now, that is not to say RTS is dead- while the Wargame series is not for me and the Total War series is too powerful for my wimpy setup- both exist, and are pretty good. (Aside, most of the original good RTS games are still available for purchase, and have devoted communities- as well as modding communities).

But when it comes to capturing the magic of C&C or Starcraft commercially, there have been some complications. Act of Aggression was meant to replicate C&C generals- but it had a very bare-bones campaign and an overly complex system that they trashed with a “redux” edition- which only served to divide the already dwindling player base. Grey Goo had a very well detailed world, factions, and campaign, along with the unique themed faction of the Goo. The only problem is- the game was boring. I don’t know why, but it just was. I bought both of these titles around the time they launched, and by the time I finished the campaign there was no one left for multiplayer- and the price of the game had dropped by 50%.

Even good RTS games, like the Homeworld prequel- the land-based one because I can’t handle space RTS- are prohibitively expensive for players to buy, especially players like me who have been burned in the past. Players not buying the game, then, weakens the value of the RTS multiplayer- and eventually kills a game. Which leads to the genuinely good idea to go F2P to get a large enough player base- except Blizzard took to long to do it and EA gave up on the project. Also, it’s hard to make an RTS F2P. Also, Mobas/Dota clones are more easily approachable for a casual player than RTS games. Also, developer wise, RTS games must look like a risky proposistion.

I could write an essay on this thing, but not in a post where if I lose internet I lose the entire thing, especially since I’m so scatterbrained.

The long and short of it is- the current market is not ideal for a resurgance of classic RTS games. There are, however, largely single player gems in the rouge with indie titles. They don’t follow the classic formula but they’re still good. A.I. War: Fleet Command is great for big-brained people, and Infested Planet is just good in my book. But, of course, you have to sift through trash to find them-

When I reviewed the Quadro 4000 for Mac, Snow Leopard was the current OS and Lion was in beta. OpenCL support was in the betas but then, for no apparent reason, it was pulled. It worked fine and the Lion drivers fixed the stability issues that plagued the Quadro 4000 in Snow Leopard, so it was anyone guess as to why it suddenly went AWOL. But it seems that the support is actually still in Lion, you just have to change some bits in the driver with a program like the post at the top here to find the values to change in the two files in the “/System/Library/Extensions/GeForceGLDriver.bundle” bundle. Don’t use the Perl tip in that thread – the code is broken by the board’s formatting. To be safe, copy the bundle to your desktop, copy it and work on the copy. Then once the edits are done, delete the GeForceGLDriver.bundle from the Extensions and quickly copy the edited bundle into the Extensions folder within The Finder and reboot. After that, OpenCL will work with all apps (despite the incorrect clock value shown below).

Currently, that doesn’t even work on Radeons in OS X (AMD and Apple will have it fixed by Mountain Lion’s release), so whoever made the call to turn it has some splainin’ to do. People lamenting the lack of V-Ray RT GPU in OS X shouldn’t worry too much – it is still far more limited than RT on the CPU and less stable, on all OSes. The dishwasher was clean, and the single glass in the top rack told him it had recently been in use and was likely in working condition—something he’d find out later. The water pressure was good, and the washer and dryer appeared to be in working condition. The refrigerator was the newest appliance in the house, but nearly everything inside it needed to be thrown away. He didn’t know for sure how long his mother had been in the hospital, but the carton of milk was over a month out of date, and the single container of peach yogurt had long since expired. The ice in the bin beneath the icemaker had all frozen together, which meant the electricity must have been off at one time long enough to melt it. Then when the power returned, it froze back. So he took the bin out and dumped the ice in the sink, then put it back beneath the icemaker to start making fresh ice, then dumped everything that was in the freezer and refrigerator into the garbage. The central heat and air were still working, and they looked newer than he remembered, which was good. There was a big job ahead of him to do this right, but in the long run, it would make a huge difference in the sale of the house. However, this task was going to take tools as well as supplies, so he went out back to the toolshed to see what, if anything, was left. The light bulb was burned out in the shed, so he left the door open as he went in to look around, and it was just as he feared. There was nothing left in it but a couple of old hammers, a hand saw, and an old sack of roofing nails. Seeing the nails reminded him he needed to check on the condition of the roof as well. He could rent tools and hire help. It wasn’t the end of the world, but it was going to be a pain in the ass coping with his family while it happened. He found a set of car keys hanging on a hook in the kitchen and guessed it was to the truck. If it ran, it would be handy to use while he was hauling stuff to the house to make repairs, so he went out to check. The insurance verification in the glove box was in Marjorie’s name. He turned the key to see if it would start, and the engine turned over immediately. So he locked the house and drove to the bed-and-breakfast to pack up his things and check out. Bud was scanning Hunt’s card to pay for his room when Hunt thought about the locks he needed to change. “Hey, Bud, is there still a locksmith here in town?” “Yes, there sure is. Mills Locks, next door to Bloomer’s Hardware on Main Street. The owner’s name is Cecil, but everything is probably closed today.” “Okay…I remember him,” Hunt said. “Thanks, and thank you for your hospitality,” he said, then carried his bag out to the truck. Out of curiosity, he drove straight to the locksmith, saw the Open sign on the door, and went inside. The man at the counter looked up. “Welcome to Mills Locks. I’m Cecil Mills. How can I help you?” “I need a couple of new locks put on a house I’ll be remodeling. Would you be available to do that today?” “Yeah, sure. Here in town?” Cecil asked. “Yes, where Marjorie Knox lived. I’m her oldest son, Hunt. I’m going to fix it up some before it’s put up for sale.” “Lived?” Hunt nodded. “She passed away early this morning.” Cecil frowned. “I hadn’t heard. I’m real sorry about that. I’m waiting on a customer who’s on the way in from his farm, but I can get away around noon, if you don’t mind me coming at your lunch hour.” “I’m not on any schedule. You sure you’re okay working on New Year’s Day? It could wait until tomorrow,” Hunt said. Cecil shrugged. “I’ve already been called out twice today for emergencies, and my wife is home and sick with the flu. I’d just as soon be here.” “Then noon is fine. Do you know the address?” Hunt asked. “It’s the last house on the right at the end of Peach Street, right?” Hunt nodded. “Yeah. My Harley and her black pickup will be under the carport.” “Then I’ll see you at noon.” “Right,” Hunt said, and left the shop, then stopped by the grocery store. Haven’t received the update notification for Windows 10? See what to do

On the eve of leaving Windows for 10 PCs, many still didn’t see the fabric of the new version but, what to do if that happens? Check out the step-by-step of how to solve

It is not today that Microsoft has alerted its customers about the upcoming upgrade of system, that meets the Windows 10 update. Who keeps the machine always updated, should already have received the alert for registration, to ensure the update but not everyone received.

However, if your Windows has not yet exhibited the notification, that’s no reason for concern. It is still possible to leave the computer ready to receive it. Below, we have listed, separated by version, everything windows 10 pro activation key must be done in order to make your life easier. Check out:

Windows 7

If you are a Windows 7 user, you will need to update the system (seems obvious, right? Yes, but some people forget that little detail). Windows 7 update for Windows 10 is not complicated but requires operating system ready. If the backup icon is not showing up for you, it is very likely that your computer is not updated in a satisfactory manner. If that happened, most likely, your automatic updates are disabled. To reset it, you must open the Control Panel, click System, and then select the automatic updates. You can also choose to manually update absolutely everything. If you choose this, don’t leave any box unchecked (and remember that updates tips pirated copies). After a few dozen updates (obviously depending on the amount of time that you does not update the PC), the Windows Update icon 10 should appear.

If you definitely have no interest in doing a full upgrade and make your computer compatible, the situation becomes much more complex. To do this, you will need to choose the correct updates to install.

First, download the required buy windows 10 pro product key updates. This includes 3035583 and 2,952,664 updates. Without these updates, Windows 7 will not be prepared to make the installation of the Windows Setup application 10.

Oh, just download the application itself. There is a post made by Yagub K, which is the Microsoft support engineer, teaching how to do. To check, click here (it’s up to note that the text is in English but it is not impossible to understand. Basically, you need to copy the text entered in the post and paste in Notepad, this is done, you must save it with a specific file name. Following with attention and care, you���re going to do a procedure that will start a process that will take between windows 10 product key. After your computer restarts, and you’re good to go.

Windows 8/8.1

Again, the trick is to keep the system up-to-date. If you’re not in order to keep the automatic update enabled by default, you will need to access the settings

Again, the trick here is to update your operating system. If you do not use automatic updating, you need to go to settings, Change computer windows 10 enterprise product key settings and after, in Update and recovery. On this screen, it will be possible to upgrade your operating system. Once this is done, you will need to restart your computer (can be more than once, it is worth noting). After that, the Windows 10 reserve icon will appear right on your taskbar next to the clock.

Just as in Windows 7, Windows Update 8 also has some exceptions. Users of the Enterprise will not RT or versions the icon. In the case of RT, most likely, not update it should receive.

If you are not into upgrading the system altogether, as stated above, you can download the two updates, which are: the 2976978 and the 3035583. They will prepare your micro to get your Windows Update application 10.

Again, just like in Windows 7, see this post and follow the same step by step I quoted above (in Windows 7, remember? If you jumped, back some houses and check out. It’s the last paragraph thereof). It is important to note that you should only do buy windows 10 product key this after you complete the first two updates, mentioned in the first step.

Other versions (older)

Unfortunately, Microsoft does not support earlier versions of Windows (such as the case of badly spoken Windows Millennium and Vista or XP and 98 warriors loved ones). So, if you own one of them, probably will need to buy a newer license to upgrade. Remember that in some cases (Windows 98 users who say), the computer hardware will not handle so think carefully before you do this.

Once you have a Twitter account set up you’re going to want to start following some people, I find following people I share interests with help, as well as those I am in groups with. I am by no means an expert, but this is what worked for me.

Finding followers:

Start by typing your interest in the search bar with a # in front of it. For this example, I will use #authors, but look for people who enjoy your hobbies, your genre, etc

This brings up posts with this hashtag

Ignoring any accounts that show at the top scroll down, if any tweets catch your eye, retweet and follow them, often Authors will follow back.

To follow someone:

If using the above step you find someone you want to follow, hover over their name to open the profile

Click the follow button, this will then turn blue and say following. (PS I don’t know this person it is just who came up during my screenshot for the example)

The way is after doing the hashtag search click on the people tag. This displays all the people with the hashtag you searched for, read their profile and follow anyone you like

How to retweet:

Retweeting is one of the most important things when trying to establish an account, it shows people the kind of things you like, and if you share content they like they are more likely to follow you. By retweeting others, you make the page not all about you, but about others too. This is important in social media. The general guidelines, based on my digital marketing course are as follows, don’t worry about these too much, it is just to show what kind of balance you eventually want to aim for:

Posting tactics:

In my digital marketing course, the following Tweet strategies were recommended as best practises.

5-3-2 – 5 pieces of content from other people, three of yours, two personal status updates – this works best for people and small businesses

5-5-5 – 5 updates about you and content, 5 about other people, 5 responses to other people’s posts – these posts should add value and be relevant to you, your hobbies, or the market

4-1-1 – 4 posts from other people, 1 retweet for every 1 self-promoting update

Rule of thrids – a third of you, a third of others, and a third on personal interactions

  How to retweet a post:

Using the search function find a post you think will enhance your feed and be of interest to your followers. Again I will use #authors as an example. Here I recommend instead of using the default page that comes up, you select the ‘latest’ tab. Scroll down until you find one you like.

For this example I will select the retweet button

When you click this the option to RT will come up. You can either just retweet, or rt with your own comment

Once it is done the rt button turns green. The number by it is how many times a post has been retweeted.

Retweeting your followers

Being engaged and retweeting your followers is really important. The tweets of the people you follow are displayed on the Home page

Using the same process above, scroll down to find the ones you want to retweet, and select the retweet button

What to Tweet

Content is all important. It is better it send out 4 or 5 tweets your audience will be interested in, than 50 they won’t. There is a fine line here, as you want to use it to promote your book.

Posts with pictures, according to my digital marketing course, get around 80% more engagement than those with text alone. So where possible include a relevant picture, gif, or in the case of authors, a book link often pulls an image from Amazon.

When promoting your own work, I find best practice is to offer pictures with teasers.

Another well-received option is to use quotes from your reviews, and short elevator pitches.

Think of a Tweet like a pick-up line, you want to entice and tease your reader, gain their interest so they want to know more.

However, it is not all about your book. You need to be personal, reveal and share snippets of your day. If you’ve written something you love or hate, tweet about it. Seen something which inspires you, made something you’re proud of? Take a picture, share it. The goal is to connect with your audience, let them see you, and your work.

How to Send a Tweet

Start by pressing the Tweet button

If you have some text highlighted in red when you write a tweet, this means it is over the character limit.

You can always find a way to save space if needed by changing things a little

Once your tweet is written, double-check it for typos and press the Tweet button.

  How often to Tweet

The average lifespan of a Tweet is 17 minutes, after which, unless people have RTed or looked for it specifically then it is finished. This is because of the constant scrolling timelines. According to Internet Live Stats, every second around 6000 tweets are sent. However, despite their short lifespan this doesn’t mean you should be sending out something every 17 minutes. Here it is important to focus on quality over quantity. Before posting anything make sure it will add value to your customers.

If you don’t log into your account within six months, Twitter may shut it down.

What Hashtags to use

The author community has so many hashtags it is hard to keep track. The rules are simple.

First, make sure they are relevant, don’t use #nonfiction if your book is #fiction

Secondly, check what is trending. If you can, you want to turn a trending hashtag into a marketing push, some people call this trend hijacking. Trending hashtags are displayed on the left side of your Twitter.

Here, since my book donates to charity, I could utilise the current trending #internationaldayofcharity and highlight the donating aspect of my book in a promo tweet.

In this instance, you’ll also see I opted to link to the charity rather than the book. It is a day of charity after all, if someone is interested in my book, they can always check my profile, however, I want to promote the DMWS here.

https://ifttt.com/applets/SMvaxczG-if-hashtag-then-retweet-it is a great one to use if you often retweet specific hashtag, but be sure to keep the -RT in the hashtag line. There are so many, that you can opt to rt things from places like NASA, or simply say thank you every time someone follows you

When Tweeting the idea is to keep your audience entertained, give them insight into you, your work, your interests, while also engaging with them. It is not all about selling your book, it is about adding value to their day, be it a smile, a book teaser, or just something personal they may relate or be inspired by. Try to keep a balance between your things and everyone else’s. RT followers, RT things that interest you, doing this shows people what you like, and shared hobbies and passions help them to relate to you and form an online relationship.

As I said above, I am a long way from being an expert on social media, however, I hope you have found some of these tips useful. This is my Twitter strategy, based on things I have learnt in the digital marketing, associates degree I have just completed, as you get a feel for it you will develop your own best practices.
